Finding Answers in Data: The Impact of Religiosity and Race on Party Identification October 30, 2020
To understand the strategies used by activists we turn to the numbers. Dr. Ryan Burge from Eastern Illinois University is a young professor of political science and a pastor who spends his time translating political trends on Twitter.  In the closing week of the campaign, Burge explains the data driving faith groups supporting the Biden campaign and why appealing to white Christian voters can make a winning difference in swing states.  Burge also reflects on how the demographic shifts spell more than a little trouble for the future of the GOP’s faith outreach and messaging.   Burge dives into the theology of dispensationalism.  He also shares insights from a poll exploring the affinity of religious people to the QAnon false conspiracy theory movement.

Ryan Burge, Ph.D
