Who would think that 14 nuns riding a tour bus would attract much attention? Thanks to the recent Vatican crackdown on American nuns, and the budget debates in Congress, a group of outspoken sisters is getting some press. Their ride across nine states is a protest against Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan, which they say will hurt the least of these.

Bishops Rally for Religious Freedom |

On June 21, the Catholic Bishops of the United States launched a protest called the “ Fortnight For Freedom.” It’s a two-week campaign of speeches, demonstrations and prayers to protest the “contraception mandate” in Obama’s health care plan, a requirement they say goes against Catholic teachings, and basic religious freedom.
