Senior Producer Job Opening

Interfaith Voices, the nation’s only public radio show exclusively about religion, is seeking an energetic and motivated senior producer for our weekly, hour-long show. Applicants must have a passion for innovative, fresh approaches to broadcasting. An interest in religion is a must. Our office is located at WAMU in Washington, DC.

The producer joins our small and passionate team, and will be the sole producer on staff, so excellent time management and leadership skills are a necessity.


•    Generate ideas for radio show segments

•    Identify and pre-interview potential guests

•    Manage logistics for booking guests

•    Generate questions for guests, intros, web copy and tracks

•    Edit audio of interviews

•    Find appropriate music and sound clips

•    Produce final sound mix

•    Post podcast and web page

•    Oversee social media postings on Facebook and Twitter

•    Manage multiple producers and staff for large grant projects


•    Minimum 4 years of radio production or related experience, ideally at an hour-long, weekly magazine show

•    Ability to think thematically and integrate stories into the larger narrative of each week’s program

•    Excellent news judgment and sense of what makes a story

•    Ability to think creatively about how religion intersects with the news

•    Strong, clear radio writing skills

•    Passion about radio as a medium

•    Good ear for sound

•    Sophisticated musical taste and ability to select music that will strengthen the show

•    Personal interest in religion as a subject

•    Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple duties at once

•    Ability to work in a small team under tight deadlines

•    Professional office manner; relates well over the phone
